Fly Day! - Students fly together from Newark to Delhi with the help of Lifeworks' professional staff.

Namaste! Arrival in New Delhi - Students arrive in Delhi in the evening and quickly get settled into a quaint guesthouse in the Tibetan colony of Majun-ka-tilla outside Delhi. Students enjoy their first of many fantastic Indian/Tibetan meals, have Lifeworks orientation and check-in, and try to get some sleep after months of anticipation come to an end!

Beating Jet Lag at the Taj Mahal - Students travel by chartered bus or jeep to the town of Agra to explore this masterpiece and true Wonder of the World.

Welcome to Dharamsala - Students travel to the beautiful, peaceful and welcoming town of Mcleod Ganj (Upper Dharamsala) and get settled into their new home. First impressions last forever in this Tibetan town! - be it the crisp Himalayan mountain air, the smiling faces of Tibetan monks, nuns, and children, or the colorful prayer flags that wave in the wind.

Orientation - Morning walking tour of Mcleod Ganj including a visit to the Tsuklakhang Temple, residence of the Dalai Lama. Students have afternoon orientation to the service projects of Rogpa Charitable Trust, the Lha Social Work Organization and the Tibetan Immersion Program.

A Home Away From Home, Amazing Dharamsala - While volunteering at Tibetan social work organizations, exploring local institutions and cultural sites and befriending individual Tibetan refugees, students gain an unforgettable insight into the culture and complex issues of the Tibetan community. A typical day in Dharamsala includes...

- Early morning yoga or meditation (optional)
- Breakfast
- Morning service project with the Rogpa Baby/Toddler Care Center and/or Lha English Instruction Program
- Lunch
- Afternoon Tibetan Immersion Program, including classes in language, music, thanka painting, Buddhist philosophy, cooking and Reiki healing
- Late afternoon daily excursion. Destinations include the Tibetan Children's Village, Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, Norbulingka Institute, Central Tibetan Administration, Bhagsunath Village, Bhagsu waterfall, monasteries and much, much more
- Dinner
- Lifeworks Forum, evening programs, games and movie nights

10 - 11
Trek And Overnight Stay At Triund - Students embark on a short but rewarding trek from Dharamsala to the snow line of Triund (2900m), with majestic views of the Dhauladhar Himalayan Range. After an overnight stay at a simple guesthouse, students take a short walk up to the glacier at Laka Got (3350m) before trekking back into town.

Dharamsala - Full program day in Dharamsala. See days 6 - 9.
17 - 18
Dharamsala to Tso Pema - Students explore the small Tibetan refugee colony, hike to serene lakes, and explore the retreat caves. Students enjoy the company (as they have so many times before) of the ever smiling, insightful and humorous Tibetan buddhist monks during an overnight stay at a monastery guesthouse.

Tso Pema to Delhi - With a bit of culture shock after having reentered "real" Indian towns once again, students travel from Tso Pema to the Tibetan colony of Majun-ka-tilla outside Delhi.

Incredible India - Students explore the bustling, multidimensional capital city of India, Delhi. Activities include visiting the Red Fort, Jama Masjid (India's largest mosque), shopping in Old Delhi's bazaars and a Bollywood film in Connaught Place. Students have a grand feast on their final night, and, perhaps, shed a few tears during our slide show and closing program.

So Hard To Say Goodbye! - Students say goodbye to their new friends at Lifeworks. Without fail there is a mix of emotions - there is excitement to return home; there is sadness to leave. Students fly together from Delhi to Newark with the help of Lifeworks' professional staff, and continue on to their respective homes and families.
